Step by step Explanation

1) Log into your back end ( Please see how to log into your back end knowledge base)

2) On the left-hand side Hover over Products and Select " ADD NEW "

If the product option is not available on the left-hand side, you will need to install woocommerce.

3) Next Give your Product a name and give your product a description

 +

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE HERE:

1) The large description is the description you will see at the bottom of your product

4) Next Select a Product image and a Product Category ( we have colour-coded it to make it simple to understand )

GREEN: This is where you allocate the new product to a category. It's important to know that a product needs a category. Be sure you create a category before adding a new product

Short example: If I was adding a product to my store called "Puffer jacket" and I wanted that product to be visible under men's Jackets, then a product category called men's jackets

must be added before you can add the " Puffer Jacket product" to your store.  Check out "How to create a category" if you don't know how to.

ALWAYS CREATE YOUR CATEGORIES FIRST BEFORE YOU ADD PRODUCTS

ORANGE: This is where you add your product pictures. Simply drag and drop your pictures to upload an image of your product.

YELLOW: This is where your gallery images go. Gallery images are product option images

FOR EXAMPLE: If the "Puffer jacket" had a colour option we can add an image of the pink, blue and Green one here so clients can see the other images.

BLUE: This is where you can add the Price for the "Puffer jacket" Just below the regular price is the sales price, here you can add a discounted price for "The Puffer jacket "

The website will proceed with showing the normal price "scratched out"  and the new ON SALES price.

PINK: Short Description area. This is one of the most important descriptions for a product as this will determine if your client is interested in buying or not.

This description is located right next to the product picture and the goal should be to answer all the Subconscious questions that the client has

For Example

  • I wonder if the Puffer jacket will fit me.
  • Does it come in Red?
  • Is it made out of real duck feathers or is it synthetic
  • is it waterproof

As you can see a client shops hoping the product will fit his or her needs, so it is important to ensure that most clients have there

5) Next let's Add a Variable Product

Firstly What is a variable Product?

It's a product that has options for example: The puffer jacket

It has: Colour and Size

So proceed by clicking on the Attribute option, and making sure that you select Variable product

Next: Fill in the Option NAME for example: Colour

the fill in the Colour options separating them with the " | " sign: Blue|pink|orange|yellow

This simply means that the client will now have an option on this product called Clour and if they click on that the options Blue Pink Yellow and orange will be available

do the same with size: small|medium|large Etc.

NEXT: Click on variable Products and then select " Generate Variations and the system will generate your variations using the two attributes we have just created.
